Bad Food = Bad Mood

I don’t normally post links to articles on this blog, but I read an something and I wanted to share it with you. Jack Challem, nutrition coach and best-selling author believes (and I happen to agree with him) that certain foods can put you in a positive mood and certain foods and do the opposite. Challem points out that B-complex vitamins found in things like broccoli, dairy and lean protein have been used by some doctors to treat “a great variety of mood and behavior problems”. He also stresses the negative affects of sugar, processed foods and trans fats claiming they have negative mood altering abilities. This plays back to a blog I posted a few weeks ago, Binge Eating And Overeating, where I talked about food feeling much like an addiction and the vicious cycle of eating : one that can make you feel great for a short period of time before you crash and feel the need to eat more.
