What do you think of this wrap that Starbucks offers in terms of nutrition? It is delicious!
http://www.starbucks.com/retail/nutrition_food_detail.asp?selProducts=%7BB97DB7A1%2D448E%2D45AC%2DA30D%2D1EFFDEE25B5D%7D&store=4296&foodZone=32
I think you could do way worse damage at Starbucks! Of the sandwiches and baking offered, this is a good option. Would I rather you make your own version of this at home. Sure! Sounds easy to replicate. But obviously if your at Starbucks looking for food, you’re not close to a kitchen to make something healthier. It’s great because it’s high in fiber and has protein in it. It is however high sodium (over 1/4 of your RDA) and has a enough saturated fat for me to notice. Bottom line- eat this wrap over the scone or chocolate covered caramel pretzel for sure!
Obviously home made is always better ( this way you eliminate the ingredients like corn syrup, sugar and LIPOLYZED BUTTER FAT!!)- although, as we know, home made is not always an option and not as convenient. Would I eat this if I was hungry and happened to be at a Starbucks. Yup, I sure would.
One more thing! It’s crazy high in cholesterol ! If I did happen to eat this wrap I would be sure to really watch my cholesterol intake for the rest of the day.
Can you ever have too much avocado? For instance, too often per week?
I think anything outside of moderation is too much. Avocados are great, but they are high in fat (even though it’s a good fat). Just be careful as to how much you are eating in a serving. One serving of avocado is about 1/5th of the fruit. This gives you 55 calories, 4.6 grams of fat, .6 grams of saturated fat, .6 grams of protein, 2.6 carbohydrates and 2 grams of fiber.
