Just Go

Today was one of those days that I absolutely did not feel like working out. I knew I would feel great after I did it, but getting off my butt to go work out was not easy today. And for some strange reason, following your own advice can be challenging  - but today, I did- and I had a great workout! I tried to remind myself that just getting there is half the battle. Once you’re at the gym, or you’ve made it to your class, or you’ve pulled out the jump rope it’s so much easier to just get it done. In fact, in my opinion you’ve conquered the hardest part – starting.

Convincing yourself to workout is harder than just getting off your butt and doing it. So why not make a date with yourself? In fact- schedule a date with yourself and take some “me” time. And then- just show up for your date!   One of the things I tell my clients to do (I know this may seem silly) but I ask them to keep a workout journal. If you are one of those people that can talk yourself out a good sweat, try this: After a workout, take a minute to write down how you feel.  This way when when do encounter those times where you find every excuse in the book not to go to the gym, you can look back at your journal entries and remind yourself how great you feel once it’s all over.

Just go. Get there.
START.

Starting is the hardest part. Once you conquer the hardest part you can conquer anything!

* Passover Challenge still going strong! 3 more days to go!
