Passover is quickly approaching ! Whether you celebrate this holiday or not, you can still participate in The Passover Challenge.
For those of you who don’t know, for a period of eight days, people who celebrate Passover can not eat anything that has been leavened.
- The long and short: Way back in the day, Jews fled Egypt and didn’t have time to let their bread rise for their journey across the dessert.
The Passover Challenge encourages you to keep passover, but this time without any bread or bread products. So, instead of buying boxes of Matzoh and forcing down bad passover bagels, just eliminate the bread! You’ll easily keep passover AND you should lose a couple of pounds while your at it! I’m by no means suggesting a no carbohydrate diet. We will be filling up on plenty of carbohydrates, but we’ll be getting them from natural sources like vegetables and fruits. We’ll also be eating lean protein and not indulging in the fatty stuff.
- Let’s make anything we have to eat out of a box, can or bag off limits for eight days. ( After-all, I don’t think our ancestors opened up a bag of kosher for passover chips while crossing the dessert.) Eight days is not a long time! You can’t eat the good stuff anyway. And, this is a great time to get others on board with you. If you’re keeping Passover, chances are most of your household is or at least a couple of good friends will be. And if you’re not keeping Passover, now is as good a time as any to join the eight day challenge.

- When?: From sunrise (not sundown) April 8th - midnight April 15th.
- Where?: At your home! In your office! At your favorite restaurant! Anywhere you go to eat!
I’ve given us a month to prepare and rally the troops! Get your family on board, grab your best-friend, grab your co-wroker! Click the sign up link below and let me know that you’re up for the challenge! The bigger the group, the bigger the support the better chances of success!
This year you won’t feel bloated (and constipated) during Passover!
Don’t go out and stock up on matzoh, soup nuts, passover candies and crappy passover baking (it’s not worth it and it’s full of oil!). Take The Passover Challenge with me instead!
