Sauce for a Stir Fry

IntoFit | February 25th, 2009 | Recipes and Meal Ideas | No Comments »

We all know how to make this one.

  1. Cut up veggies. ( Or use a bag of frozen vegetables.)
  2. Cut up chicken. ( Or shrimp or beef.)3. Sauté in pan and serve! It’s really that simple!
  • But what do you season it with? Don’t let the sauce prevent you from making a healthy and delicious stir fry. It’s one of the fastest and easiest meals around!

Whenever I’m stuck, this is what I do:
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 2 minced garlic cloves
  • Dash of fresh ginger ( or ½ tsp powder)
  • 1 Tbsp low sodium soy
  • 2 tsp rice vinegar
  • ¼ tsp sesame oil
  • 1 Tbsp Brown Sugar
  • Dash of red pepper flakes
  • 1 Tbsp Natural Peanut Butter
  • If you want the sauce to be thicker, you can always add corn starch (about 1 – 2 tsp)
