It started like this; a friend was having problems with her skin. She would break out into hives all the time. She changed her soap, her shampoo, her cream. Her doctor told her she had sensitive skin and had to live with it. But that wasn’t good enough for her-  so she went too see a Naturopath where she learnt she was allergic to a big list of foods. From wheat to eggs- even things like sweet potatoes and strawberries.

Now, I’m not sure if she is going to be allergic to these foods for the rest of her life, or if she just needs to re-boot her immune system. Give it a nice clean and start from scratch. Test the waters and really see what foods her system can and can’t handle. The best way to do something like this is with a cleanse. For a period of time, eliminate the list of edible culprits and slowly reintroduce them back into your diet to see how your system reacts.
  • Because cleansing can be difficult without support-  my husband and I are going to do it as well. We are going to go on a 4 week sugar cleans starting January 5th.
I think a sugar cleanse is the best option because you are still feeding your body good food. And lots of it. In fact, you have to eat every 3 hours even if your not hungry to maintain your blood sugar levels.
  • What does this mean?
  1. Eliminating anything that is or acts like sugar.
  2. Eliminating anything processed.

Over the next 4 weeks, I will be blogging about my progress and my struggles. What I am eating and how it’s effecting me mentally and physically. I’ll keep you posted for sure!
