Wow! We’ve made it two whole weeks! Go team sugar free!

It was an interesting week for sure. Easier than the first, but it definitely had it’s challenges. I think my cleanse-homies settled into things a bit better. Their side effects seem to disappear by mid- week.
  • Just to remind you, the whole reason for this cleanse was that one of the gals cleansing with me was diagnosed with food allergies. Well- having been on prescription medicine every day for the past eight years for acid reflux, she went six whole days without taking her medicine! Not only that, but for the first time in a long time she is sleeping through the night, and her 2pm energy low has disappeared! It really goes to show you how what we eat truly effects how your body functions.
This was my week:
Monday: My eyes popped opened and I realized I had three more weeks without coffee! AHHH! What have I done!
Tuesday: Cravings.  But at least it was a healthy one. I wanted oatmeal. Oatmeal is okay to crave! In two weeks – I’m making myself a bowl for breakfast!
Wednesday: Weirdest day of my life! I love chocolate. Sweet milk chocolate. I passed by a chocolate shop and the smell drifted towards me. Instead of craving it – the smell kinda made me sick.  Who am I?
Thursday: Today I was starving. But that’s o.k. , I can eat as much as I want (of the right foods) on this cleanse. In fact, you have to eat every three hours to regulate blood glucose levels.
Friday: We had greek chicken and salad at my sisters tonight. There was fresh garlic bread and red wine. It was hard to pass on the garlic bread, but the wine was even harder! Still holding strong.
Saturday: Another hungry day, but no cravings. No thoughts of food. When I was hungry I ate. When I was full I stopped – seems simple, right?
Sunday: So here’s the thing; I’m not craving anything. I’m not constantly thinking of food. What and how much I am going to eat has not even entered my brain (a nice change). But, when it’s in front of me, I’m not going to lie- It’s tempting. I had a birthday party for my best friend’s son today; pizza, home made cake and anything else you can think of. Munching on veggies and my pre-packaged snacks that I brought from home made it easier. I think if food didn’t smell, I would have no problems on this cleanse ;-)

Once again, I am so very proud of my cleanse- homies! Half way there! I’m excited to see what next week brings!
