7 days down! I’m 1/4 of the way through my sugar cleanse! It was a tough week, but with each passing day it got a little easier. I think any side effects I ( or the others who are cleansing with me) felt were our bodies withdrawing from sugar and all the chemicals they put in processed foods. It’s kinda like quitting smoking. Your taking away something that your body has grown dependent on. My one friend struggled with headaches and the other with heartburn. This was my week:

Day 1 – Will power a-blazing! I am so ready to tackle this thing- nothing can stop me now!
Day 2 – Coffee would be good. It would be really good. I’m foul and mad at the world!
Day 3 - Still very cranky, still want my coffee-  feeling a little depressed.
Day 4 - This morning was better without the coffee. Although coffee would be SO NICE,  I enjoyed the decaf green tea. However,  a delicious looking cinnamon bun was staring at me today – I cursed myself for not having the cinnamon bun I wanted 2 weeks ago!
Day 5 – Weird. I suddenly just knew when I had enough to eat! I didn’t feel full, I was just was satisfied.  Maybe it’s because it was chicken and not chips!
Day 6 – Ah the weekend! I feel like it’s day 2 again. I’m just making sure I pre pack snacks and carry them with me where ever I go. If I don’t get hungry, the less likely I will be tempted by the sweet stuff.
Day 7 – Birthday Brunch at my mothers. Bagels! I politely asked if she would mind if I made myself an omelet. Done and done! But I’m not going to lie – the cravings were kicking in! Bread! Cereal! Oh, a bowl of cereal would have been so nice today!

I’m so proud of myself and my cleanse-homies for getting through the first week. 1 week down 3 to go!  Woot!
