Resistance Band Exercises – Part 3
IntoFit | December 31st, 2008 | Workouts - Strength | No Comments »
It’s New Years eve day, and that’s all the more reason to get a work out in!
Here are two more exercises for your triceps. It’s great to know 2 or even 3 exercises for each muscle! You can switch it up so you and your muscles don’t get bored!
- Bent Over Tricep Extensions:
Loop your resistance band in your door with the door hook. Hold your band just below the handles and bend over so that you can maintain a flat back. Bring your elbows up beside your ears and keep them here throughout the exercise. Bring your hands behind your head and then fully extend your arms. At the end of motion, flare your hands out about 30 degrees away from your body. Remember to keep your elbows tucked beside your ears the whole time.
- The further you stand from the door, the more resistance you will create.
- Reverse Tricep Extensions:
Stand on one end of your band and bring the other end behind your back and above your head, holding it just below the handle. Keep your elbow out to your side and bend it 90 degrees. Feel free to hold onto your elbow with your free hand so that it stays in position. From a 90 degree angle in the elbow, lift the band toward the ceiling so that your arm comes into a full extension. Hold for a count and then bend your elbow back to 90. Repeat!
- I know I have been bad at recording my steps. That’s because I’ve been forgetting to wear my pedometer! Happens to the best of us! I’m back at it though and I had a busy day!
