A Healthy Frozen Dinner

I just love finding products like this. They make dinner a breeze. And dinner stays as healthy as it would have if you actually cooked it yourself. This is what My husband and I ate tonight!
- For $ 2.99 I bought Tilapia and Lime Chipotle Seasoning from Green Island. I picked it up in the freezer section of my grocery store. The package came with 2 nice sized fillets.
- This took me literally 3 minutes and 30 seconds to make. I opened the package, put the fillets in the microwave and cooked ( you can bake them if you want). I served them along side a simple salad with some grated Parmesan cheese and toasted Pine nuts! With dinner this fast and easy, there really is no excuse not to eat healthy!
- Now, in a perfect world, this would have less salt, no sugar and no food starch. But I’m O.K with it. Why? Well for one- Non of the ingredients are unfamiliar to me or full of chemicals. And the second reason is this- if my option is to order in Chinese or pizza because I don’t have the time or the energy to cook. This piece of fish is a MUCH BETTER option.

Hey Jessica, I think your blog is great, thanks for all the great suggestions. Coincidentally I was looking for prepared frozen fish the other night but they all seemed to be really high in sodium. do you know what the sodium is for the frozen Tilapia&Chipotle ?
Thanks and keep up the good work!
This looks yummy. What grocery store did you find this in?
I bought this at Longos, but I believe I have seen it in other stores as well. The Sodium count on this was just over 300 mg for one serving. This is just over 10% of your dietary allowance of Sodium for the day. It’s very difficult to find prepared foods that are not high in Sodium. If you are watching your salt, make sure to limit your prepackaged and processed foods. You can eat something like this, but make sure it’s on a day when your other meals were low in Sodium. It will probably be a day that you made breakfast and lunch at home. Does this help?
The Tilapia looks amazing. I will definately look for that next time I am shopping. Quick and easy is perfect for our busy household.
